It's Official!! The WORST FIGHT In Boxing HISTORY!

  • Yesterday’s fight between Shakur Stevenson and Edwin De Los Santos was the worst fight in boxing history. De Los Santos landed a total of 40 punches in the entirety of the 12 round fight (the lowest punches landed by a fighter recorded by COMPUBOX) and Stevenson only landed 65 total punches. Stevenson vs. De Los Santos is now the 12 round boxing match with the second lowest punches landed in COMPUBOX history.

    • Unlike Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. John Riel Casimero (who hold the number one spot as the fight with the fewest punches landed in 12 rounds in COMPUBOX history), both Stevenson and De Los Santos are still relatively young. Therefore, their activity level should have been higher which proves that their performance was the worst in boxing history.

  • ShowBizz’ Take: It would be good for fighters to let us know any injuries or things that are important to consider to help understand bad performances. Fighters are human.

  • This performance by Stevenson makes us appreciate fighters who aren’t overly cautious to engage against a puncher. Fans want to feel inspired.

  • As of the moment, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson is not a product that is interesting given the way that Stevenson has reacted to power punchers.
