Therefore, the promoters, Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins decided to become the opposition of Garcia for promotional purposes (Hopkins being the mastermind behind this operation). However, Garcia himself is not aware of this promotional tactic. What is the evidence to support this theory? Well, first of all, during the press conference, Hopkins began the event with a message against Ryan Garcia without any real reason to bring up such message besides promotion. Then, when Garcia was responding with a rant directed at Hopkins and De La Hoya, Hopkins’ face during that moment was that one makes when they are involved in a lie. The truth being that Hopkins does not really have these negative feelings or thoughts against Garcia and his words were with promotional intent.
