‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia Press Conference Recap

After yesterday’s Davis vs. Garcia press conference in Los Angeles, we have lots to talk about. This fight is composed of two characters: the “bully” and “the bullied”. Tank by his actions in the press conference (e.g., throwing a punch at Ryan and standing up in the middle of the conference to try to intimidate Ryan) has taken the role of the bully in this analysis of the fight. On the other hand, Ryan is trying to prove to not judge a book by its cover.

A bully or villain tends to take the lead in the conflict against the bullied or the hero because of their willingness to not be limited by heroic or ‘good’ customs. Therefore, Tank initiated confrontational moments in which Ryan was placed in a position where he had to react (e.g., had to reciprocate putting his fist up to Tank’s chin). Although in ShowBizz’ opinion Tank won the press conference through his ‘bullying’ ways that have also been part of his previous fight press conferences, what should matter more is who will win the war. As boxing fans we should not forget various fights in history in which the bullied defeated the bully (e.g., Lennox vs. Tyson, Toney vs. Jones and De La Hoya vs. Vargas).

It is ShowBizz’ opinion that whoever wins this fight will be the face of boxing. Let’s be excited for this fight!
