Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane Weigh-In Commentary and Reaction

Yesterday, Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane were involved in a fantastic staredown to start the main pre-fighting festivities. The following analysis is ShowBizz’ fight breakdown: Jones is better defensively, in the ground and in the clinch. Jones however has not looked good in his last few fights and is returning after years of inactivity. Gane looked good against Tuivasa and Lewis but perhaps those fighters were good stylistically for him. Gane losing the wrestling exchanges against Francis Ngannou reveals that Jones could have success in the department. Ultimately, ShowBizz’ perspective is that Gane is not in Jones’ level but Jones, while not old, has been inactive for years. The problem Jones has to overcome is ring rust and the move up in weight. Both fighters will be moving great and striking well but the winner will be that who is better in every departments of mixed martial arts. However, with that said, after seeing Jones’ physique in the weigh-in, we must wonder if he’s primed for the challenge.
